Dora Jean Brannon Bumgarner Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Robert Lloyd Bumgarner and sons Robert Brannon Bumgarner and Steve Gene Bumgarner in memory of their wife/mother, Dr. Dora Jean Brannon Bumgarner. Dr. Bumgarner’s roots were in Gilmer County and the education she received at Glenville State formed a foundation for her to be successful in all areas of her life especially in the field of education. She saw education as the path to success and fulfillment. First priority will go to elementary education students. If there are no students in elementary education to receive the award, a student with a secondary education major will be selected.
